Canon FS-CF and FS-CF Pro Portable Compact Flash DTE recorders




Canon has just announced the Focus Enhancements FS-CF and FS-CF Pro portable Compact Flash DTE recorders – offering HD video recording to Compact Flash cards for Canon’s line of HDV camcorders and Mini-DV camcorders.The new Focus Enhancements FS-CF units lend support to 1080 24F, 25F and 30F, 50i and 60i frame rates in QuickTime as well as M2T file formats. In addition, 1080i 60 and 50 are endured in the MXF OP Atom format.

“With the continued trend toward a fully digital file-based workflow, we are proud to offer our customers a new solution to adapt previously released Canon HDV camcorders into a file-based solution to allow them to take full advantage of all the benefits that flash media offers,” explained

The new recorders come equipped with additional features such as video playback on the unit’s color LCD, MPEG-4 proxy file generation, wireless metadata logging, and much more. Perfect for professional cinematographers and videographers, the new devices enable users to upgrade their existing canon HDV equipment to a seamless file-based workflow.

Both the FS-CF and FS-CF Pro units boast of a single card slot for recording to industry standard Type 1 CF solid-state media. Once video footage has been recorded to user-supplied CF cards, the FS-CF units are easily connected to both Windows and Mac systems via USB 2.0 from the FS-CF unit itself or the CF card can be easily read through standard memory card readers for a seamless workflow with popular NLE systems.

The new Canon FS-CF and FS-CF Pro are anticipated to hit the shelves in late April with a price tag of $995 (approx Rs. 44,057) and $1,295 (approx Rs. 57,326) respectively.

JVC SR-HD1500 and SR-HD1250 Blu-ray/HDD Recorder Decks




JVC announced the SR-HD1500 and SR-HD1250 Blu-ray / Hard Drive combo recorder decks at the CEDIA 2009. These are high performance professional combo decks with a built-in Blu-ray recorder and an internal hard disk drive for easy duplication and disc authoring without a PC.

These devices are not designed to record TV programs to hard drive or Blu-ray discs. Instead, JVC’s new recorders are used to record video from camcorder or other devices via USB, i.Link IEEE1394 or from SD/SDHC memoru cards. Composite and S-Video inputs provide interfaces for legacy analog devices as well. Unprotected DVD and Blu-ray discs can also be duplicate easily.

Using the SR-HD1500 and SR-HD1250, users can record and author professional BDMV (with menu) or BDAV discs. Advanced MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 (H.264) encoding provides support for HD and SD sources, and a built-in format converter can downconvert HD content for recording to a standard DVD.The units support BD-R or BD-RE (erasable) Blu-ray discs.

The JVC SR-HD1500 has 500GB drive, RS-232C terminal and support for .MOV files while SR-HD1250 has a 250GB hard drive and comes without the RS-232C and .MOV support. They are priced at $2550 and $1995 respectively and will be available in October 2009
